How We Crafted
A Friendship and Metaphors in Junkyard
What Is A Friendship To You?
"...later in life you meet hundreds or thousands of people and then you pick friends more carefully - you pick friends that you can have very interesting conversations with..."
What Is Junkyard About
“If you want to tell a realistic story, things should just happen because they happen like that - not because there is a deep message in that moment. When they drive off with the scooter - It’s just because they are being assholes…”
“So it happens a lot that metaphors are used in a way in animation or in art that something is shown or told, but it actually means something else - and then the audience has to think, what does it actually mean? And they are out of the film because they have to think! So I like to use metaphors in a way that - I mean you also need to use your brains to understand what’s happening, but you have to feel it! You have to feel it too.”
This was How We Crafted A Friendship and Metaphors in Junkyard with Hisko Hulsing, writer and director of the short.
